Redettes fall on road to Clarke

OSCEOLA — The Redettes scored more points on Tuesday than they have so far in any single game this season. However, their first win continues to elude them as they fell 67-53 against Clarke on Tuesday.

“Offensively, I thought we played some of our best basketball this year,” Centerville head coach Matt Kovacevich said. “We limited our turnovers and shot the ball fairly we’ll. We still need to find some consistency throughout our lineup on the offensive end.”

The Redettes had two players in double-digit scoring totals on the night. Taylor Lawson led the effort with 16 points while Kiley Micetich ended the evening with 14 points. The Redettes shot 6-for-10 from the free throw line and 26-71 from the field. Micetich had four of the Redettes’ five three point baskets.

The defense was the big struggle for the Redettes, who recorded three steals and four blocked shots on the night.

“Defensively, we were as cold as the weather,” Kovacevich said. “We didn’t matchup in transition very good and in the half-court we guarded no one. We continue continue to give great effort for all four quarters.”
